Coastguard involved in search for high-risk missing male in Mablethorpe

Mablethorpe Coastguard were called out to assist Lincolnshire Police in the search for a high-risk missing male earlier this week.

The team was called out by Humber Coastguard at around 1.40pm on Wednesday (February 3) due to the missing male in the North End area of Mablethorpe.

Mablethorpe Coastguard arrived on the scene and liaised with the police to formulate a search plan, and two crew members did a hasty search on foot around the immediate area. Donna Nook Coastguard and a Mablethorpe inshore lifeboat were also tasked with conducting a shoreline search.

A Mablethorpe Coastguard spokesman said: “After an hour, we were notified that a male had been found by a member of public at the edge of Theddlethorpe Dunes.

“Members of Donna Nook and Mablethorpe Coastguard, along with Lincs Police, stayed with him until the arrival of Lives and the East Midlands Ambulance Service.”

In total, on the scene were Mablethorpe Coastguard (6 crew), Donna Nook Coastguard (6 crew), Skegness Coastguard (4 crew), Mablethorpe inshore lifeboat, Lincolnshire Police, Lincolnshire Police drone, LIVES, and the East Midlands Ambulance Service.
