COMMUNITY: Bassetlaw Community Outreach
This is a scheme that offers help, advice, and information for people over 50, to help them remain safe and independent in their own home.
An advisor can visit older people in their own homes and offer advice and information on a number of local services, including but not exclusively:
• befriending schemes
• community transport
• meal services
• local groups and clubs
• finance information
• crime prevention.
The advisor can make referrals to other appropriate organisations as well as researching information herself. She can also visit local groups and clubs to promote safe, independent living.
