She spoke about her interest in family history and the work and determination involved in compiling a record for future generations.
The institute celebrated its 75th anniversary, coinciding with the Queen’s 90th birthday, so cake and wine were enjoyed and members raised a toast to the Queen and to the future of the WI in Blyton.

Hide AdThe competition, judged by Jean White, was for a dog (any medium) and was won by Jenny Emery. Gill Birkitt won the 100 club draw and there were four lucky raffle winners.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, May 19, when members will vote on the resolutions for this year’s annual general meeting debate.
