He will be playing for the society later in the season. Instead, John Romero (who was down to play later in the season) will be taking his place.

John is a famous piano accordion player and has had world tours, in addition to winning the British championship on a number of occasions.

He plays his accordion in conjunction with a keyboard, and made such an impression when he played for the society last year, that members have asked him back to play again.

In addition to his playing, John is a founder member of the Organfax website which is nowadays the world’s leading article on music and keyboards.

Usual venue, the Weston Rooms, Hickman Street, Gainsborough. Usual start time, 7.30pm. Everyone welcome with payment on the door.

Sunday, October 16, world famous one man show John Mann.

John was a regular performer, specialising at the annual Christmas concert, for a number of years, but was visibly upset when he had to retire from carting his famous Dutch Eminent organ all over the country due to ill health.

However, whilst visiting one of his shows last year, the society managed to get him to come to Gainsborough once again, and they are highly honoured to have such a star who wants to come back and entertain them.

He has found some people to bring up and set up his equipment.

Usual venue, the Weston Rooms, Hickman Street, Gainsborough, 2.30pm start.

Admission by ticket only, £6.50, obtainable from 01427 615265.

This will be the last time that the society will be able to be entertained by such a star. A full house is expected.
