COMMUNITY: Gainsborough U3A

David Bussey from Radio Lincolnshire came to talk to the group on 'A Life in Radio'. Seventy members assembled at the regular monthly meeting to hear this amusing and informative speech.

David Bussey explained how radio programmes were composed and how much off air time was needed for each hour of air time. The technology used sounded interesting, and now emails and social media have enabled audiences to respond immediately to items under discussion, a presenter has to have his wits about him.

The next meeting’s talk on August 11, will be by Graham Keal, “Terry Wogan’s Hair Weave and other stories”.

Anyone aged 45 or over and not in full time work is most welcome to join our U3A.

Besides monthly talks there is a huge variety of interest groups from art and music to kurling and croquet.
