Community heroes sought in award which honours Rob

The Rob Lauberts Award was launched to commemorate the hard-working supporter of Boston who died last year following a short battle with cancer.

The annual award will see Boston in Bloom committee hand a cup in his memory, engraved with the name of each year’s winner, and a framed certificate to keep.

Sponsors Poyntons, property consultants of Boston, will give a £100 gift voucher to the winner.

Mr Lauberts, a supporter of Boston in Bloom, worked tirelessly alongside his wife, Rachel, and on various committees on improvements to to the town, including the revamp of Custom House Quay and the garden at the Geoff Moulder Leisure Complex.

Rachel said: “It will be an honour for this to be awarded annually in Rob’s memory. Rob’s ethos was all about making a difference in Boston and making it a place where you wanted to live.”

Nomination forms are available to be filled in online at http://bit.ly/1UEOkiY or from the reception at Boston Borough Council’s offices at Municipal Buildings in West Street.

All nominations need to be with Maddy Eyre, The Robert Lauberts Award, Municipal Buildings, West Street, Boston, PE21 8QR, by Wednesday, March 23.

The award will be presented on Tuesday, April 5.

Nominations are being sought for people committed to community or environmental endeavours.
