COMMUNITY: Misterton Clean for the Queen

Thirteen residents and councillors turned out to '˜blitz' the village, collecting eight full black bags of litter.

The annual tidy-up was given added impetus this year as communities are encouraged to help clean up the village in time for official celebrations of the Queen’s 90th birthday in June.

Big bags of rubbish, tyres, and grass cuttings have been reported to the district council, which will pick up large items and those thrown in hedge bottoms that are difficult to reach.

Rubbish thrown away under hedges and in green spaces are a danger to wildlife.

Residents are encouraged to dispose of waste properly and help keep the village - and the countryside around it - free from litter.
