COMMUNITY: Sturton Parish Council
In the open session complaints were made regarding dog-fouling. It was agreed to pay the balance of the annual allowance to the village hall to replace double doors and general maintenance expenses. It was also agreed to buy a bowls mat with a loan which will be paid back by the bowls’ club. The monthly accounts were agreed. It was reported that 50 young trees were being delivered and council agreed to form a sub-committee to manage the jubilee wood area. Complaints were also made regarding vehicles parking on grass verges. Coun Wines reported a successful party when she was presented with a generous cheque which will enable the evergreens to continue for another year. Several potholes were reported both in Sturton and Bransby and it was suggested that some kind of road marking should be placed to enable buses to approach the bus stop correctly. Following a discussion on the proposed new electoral boundaries it was agreed to object to them wishing to remain in the Stow Ward and not become attached to Saxilby. Request for storage space in the old schoolroom small room by the local history society was agreed in principle.
