COMMUNITY: West Lindsey Churches Festivals

Saturday and Sunday, May 14-15, Gainsborough United Reformed Church will be taking part in this festival on both days with several special events.

On the Saturday, the church will be open from 9.30am until 4pm, during which time tea or coffee with cakes will be served.

During the morning, music will be played on the church’s heritage organ and there will be a cake sale.

Exhibitions will include displays of work by the members of the church’s art club and also items from the Bassetlaw Christian Heritage relating to Richard Clifton and the Separatists as they approach the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower voyage in 2020.

A craft activity for adults and children will involve the colouring of Celtic knots.

On Saturday evening, starting at 7.30pm, there will be entertainment including music, songs and readings.

Admission is free but donations to church funds would be gratefully received.

On Sunday, the church will be open from 1pm to 4pm, during which time refreshments and exhibitions will be available.

Organ music will be played between 2pm and 3pm.

Members of the public will be very welcome to come to the church and have a look around and also see the alterations to the church’s interior which were completed 18 months ago.
