Company that want to build in Horncastle secure site in Louth

The company behind a controversial scheme to build more than 250 new homes in Horncastle has secured permission for a site in Louth.

Grimsby-based Cyden Homes is in the process of obtaining full planning permission for 265 dwellings on Langton Hill in Horncastle.

The land already has outline permission after initial developers Gladman won an appeal against a rejection by East Lindsey District Council.

Residents - and Horncastle Town Council - had opposed the scheme which could take ten years to complete.

Now, Cyden Homes have been given the go-ahead to build 46 homes at a 2.2-hectare site off Eastfield Road on the outskirts of Louth.

The company’s first application was rejected but ELDC’s planning committee approved a revised scheme at a meeting yesterday (Thursday).
