The outgoing two-year-old loves having her photograph taken, but turned a little bit shy when she was snapped for the competition, according to her mum Katie.

Mum, Katie Bower, 28 of Cavendish Road, Worksop said: “ I have entered Evie Katie into the Cute Kids competition before but I’m not sure whether to enter her next year.”

“She will probably be old enough to decide herself whether she wants to go in for it by then.”

“Evie has such blonde curly hair, so on the day we kept trying different things to make it look nice.”

Hundreds of children were entered into the popular contest, but it was two-year-old Evie Katie who captured our readers’ hearts to win the public vote.

Katie said: “ Me and Evie Katie’s dad, Andy, were very pleased when we got the phone call telling us Evie Katie had won.”

“It was a nice surprise. All of our family and friends were very supportive and even my 90-year-old gran got on her mobile to vote.”

Evie Katie’s favourite things to do is go to Kids Zone and play on the slides, and loves watching Dora The Explorer.

In the new year, Evie Katie will be giving another exciting title of big sister who is due to arrive in February.

The Guardian’s Cute Kids 2014 was launched in October which saw cute children from newborn to five-years-old, being snapped at Matalan, on Eastgate, Worksop.

In November we gave you the chance to vote for your favourite child to be crowned the winner.

All photographs for the competition were taken by Starlight Studios.

The children with the most votes from the 3 weeks were then placed into our top 10.

Evie Katie has received a canvas of the winning picture and Frankie & Benny’s voucher.
