The Wyevale Garden Centre owned Wolds View - formerly known as Crowders - is inviting school pupils up to the age 11 to design a new flag.

The design should represent ‘Wolds View’ – a name that describes the scenic view of the Wolds from the centre’s well-known plant area.

The competition will be judged by town Mayor Councillor, Angela Birchall, and Garden Centre Manager, Ken Dawson.

The winning design will be digitally transformed into a real flag to fly proudly outside the entrance to Wolds View - alongside the centre’s existing three flags.

The winning young designer will also win a £500 voucher to be spent on plants or equipment for their school garden.

Competition runner-ups won’t go empty-handed,with the second prize winner being awarded a £250 Wyevale Garden Centres voucher for their school, and the third prize winner receiving potted sunflower seeds for their school classroom or garden.

Mr Dawson said: “We’re thrilled to be working again with locals to help define the future image of our centre which we know has built a rich history and heritage in the community over the years.

“We hope to engage the creativity and imaginations of Lincolnshire’s next generation to create a flag that all of us can be proud of – and very much look forward to seeing the designs that come in from the kids.”

• The competition will run until Friday May 6 inclusive, with entry packs available in store or online at www.wyevalegardencentres.co.uk/garden-centres/Wolds-View/RLO#events
