Could you be Alfords next firefighter?

ALFORD fire station is holding a recruitment event on July 9, and are looking to recruit two firefighters to join the crew, to plan for some staff retirements in the future.

The recruitment session takes place from 10am until 2pm and will feature the recruitment pod where potential candidates can have a go at the job related test, and test their fitness with the Chester step test. A practice booklet is also available for the written tests.

Members of the recruitment team and recruits already in the training process will be available to chat to and give advice.

Karl Foxall from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue’s recruitment team, said: “Our recruitment events give you a great feel for working in the fire service and what it takes to get through the recruitment and training process. We will talk you through the application process and the physical and written requirements for the role, and you can even have an informal interview to get the ball rolling.”

For anyone wanting to find out about the training process and what it’s like to be a retained firefighter can read new recruit Sarah Love’s blog on the newly refreshed website for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue. Go to www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/lfr.
