Council tax set to rise 2.94 per cent
The rise will be the first in six years and will see the average Band D property’s tax increase to £173.34.
Councillors in favour of the rise said it was a hard decision but one which ‘had’ to be made by the council - with a ‘challenging few years’ ahead to 2021.

Hide AdOpposition councillors said they felt other avenues could have been taken – however, were told that they had had the chance to put proposals and suggestions forward at scrutiny committee meetings.
The budget recommendations were passed by a majority vote.
