Councillors to discuss Bassetlaw anti-poverty strategy

Bassetlaw Council’s Cabinet will discuss the launch of an Anti Poverty strategy for the authority at tomorrow night’s meeting in Worksop.

A recent study has shown Bassetlaw ranks 61st in England for the biggest risk of poverty and 64th for child poverty out of 326 local authorities.

The council wants to promote a range of services to help residents, including developing access to Credit Union services and combatting loan sharks.

The 7pm meeting will be held at The Assembly Room at Worksop Town Hall on Tuesday 3rd April and is open to members of the public.
