CPR dog put down

A SCHOOLBOY who gave his dog CPR last year has spoken of his sadness after the pet was put down recently.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Bronk, suffered from prostate cancer and passed away in the arms of his beloved owner.

Portland pupil Dean Allen, from Worksop, said he will always remember the good times they shared.

“The end was very hard. I held him as he went, he licked my face and wagged his tail as if to say thank you then he went to sleep,” he said.

“Truly a day I will never forget.”

Dean saved Bronk in July of last year when the dog fell into the River Ryton.

The teen jumped in after him and dragged him to safety. He had to pump Bronk’s chest and blow up his nose to resuscitate him.
