The Life Story group meets every Friday at the Museum between 10.15am and 12pm. They are always looking for new people to join their group.

Advice and guidelines are given on what to write about and how to make it a good read at the sessions. If you have a flair for writing or would like to write your life story or commemorate Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire’s history then join in. Although a lot of hard work is done the meetings are sociable and easy-going.

Apart from creating personal memories, the group’s writing also produces a social history of change; particularly in the Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire area.

Last year the group produced a booklet called ‘Passion at the Pavilion’ that reencountered many aspects of life in the 40s and 50s including a visit to the old Pavilion cinema to which the title refers.

The Life Story group has now completed a second booklet on memories of working life.

The group will be holding ‘Evenings with creative writers’ at North Lincolnshire Museum where they will perform a range of creative writing and poetry work.
