Creswell: Large grass blaze near railway line
Firefighters battled a large grass and undergrowth fire which was dangerously close to a railway line.
The blaze was discovered at the back of the Model Village, at Creswell, about 3.30pm, on Monday 9th February.
A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “There was about 100metres of grass and undergrowth well alight and near to a railway line.”
Bolsover firefighters used back-packs and beaters to extinguish the blaze and made the area safe by about 4pm before leaving the scene soon after.
