Creswell shop raid drug user

A DRUG abuser was among three men who raided a Creswell shop and helped themselves to food.

The trio loaded meat and cheese into bags in the village Spar shop and left without paying, Chesterfield magistrates heard.

But they were later identified. Elfidh Mounaim appeared before the court, another has been bailed and the third is wanted by police.

Sarah Haslam, prosecuting, said Mounaim, 33, made no comment to police following arrest.

He committed thefts in the Worksop, Mansfield and Doncaster areas earlier this year and was serving a 16 week prison sentence, suspended for a year, imposed on 24th November.

Mounaim, of Shrewsbury Road, Bircotes, admitted theft on 22nd August. He received a one-year conditional discharge, with £100 compensation.

Jamie Ratcliffe, defending, said the offence took place before he received the suspended sentence and, if all matters had been dealt with together, the sentence would have been the same.

The court heard Mounaim was already subject to a drug rehabilitation order, which was imposed alongside the suspended sentence.
