Barbecues cause damage to sculpture in Westgate Fields

Visitors to Westgate Fields in Louth are being asked to take care of the area, after people were spotted using a disposable barbecue on one of the large wooden leaf sculpture, leaving behind heat damaged.

The latest news...

A resident, who did not wish to be named, spotted a young couple using three disposable barbecues on one of the sculptures on the evening of June 24.

The pair reportedly took ‘no notice’ of his plea for them to stop doing so, and seemingly failed to realise they were causing damage to a piece of art.

Early the next morning, some dustbins were kicked over - scattering litter and causing damage to the attached concrete pavers.
