"The grinder was found to have traces of both cannabis and ecstasy on it as well as the fingerprints of the defendant."

Mr Ewing said that a total of 7 gs of ecstasy was found in the car which was worth around £150.

"In reality it was a relatively small amount of the drug and not one that was offering a great profit to anybody."

Holland, 31 , of Revesby Avenue, Boston, admitted possession of ecstasy with intent to supply as a result of the incident on 27 January 2018. He pleaded guilty on the basis that he planned to share the drugs with a fellow user.

The court was told that three days after Holland was stopped he received a 34 month jail sentence at the Crown Court for an unconnected offence of possession of drugs with intent to supply.

Neil Sands, in mitigation, said that Holland has turned his life around since receiving the jail sentence in 2018.

He said that Holland was released on licence from that sentence and told the court "He is drug-free and has made significant changes to his lifestyle and his friendships."

Holland was given an eight month jail sentence suspended for two years and ordered to complete a rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 10 days.
