Boston teenager was in possession of 'mamba', court is told

A BOSTON teenager, who admitted possessing 'mamba' after 13.6 grammes of it were found in his room, has been conditionally discharged but spared court costs because it had taken more than 14 months to get to court, even though he had admitted it from the outset.

Shaye Bulman, 19, of Witham Bank West admitted at Boston Magistrates Court that he was in possession of the drug when police went to his address on November 23 2018, just three weeks after he had been given a community order for a similar offence.

However, the court heard he had been having a difficult time in October 2018 as his father, who had brought him up single handed, had been dying, and he had not had a fixed address since then.

However, it was said he had successfully completed the community order and was now no longer taking any substances.

He was given a six month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £20 in court charges, but no order for costs was made because of the length of time it had taken to bring the matter to court.
