Lincolnshire Police has revealed that Roberts Buncis would have turned 13 today.

They have this morning issued a photograph of Roberts with his father.

A spokesperson said: "Our thoughts are with Roberts' family and friends."

They asked for the family's privacy to be respected as 'the community grieves this loss'.

The body of Roberts was found in a common area at the rear of Alcorn Green, Fishtoft, at 10.22am on Saturday.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information to contact them. They also want to speak to anyone with CCTV cameras which may cover the area around where the body was found.

Speaking on Sunday, Detective Superintendent Martyn Parker said, “This is a devastating incident in which a young boy has lost his life.

"The impact will no doubt be felt greatly in the community and beyond.

"This type of incident is not what we would expect to see within our communities. We are working with those affected to keep them informed and offer our support.

"I want to reassure the public that we will do all in our power to meticulously investigate the circumstances of this young boy's death and we would urge anyone who has any information that could support this investigation to get in touch.”

Police have made a direct appeal for anyone with external facing CCTV covering the junction of Freiston Road and Woodthorpe Avenue, and the entire length of Wing Drive and Alcorn Green for any footage between the hours 8pm on Friday 11 December and 10.22am on Saturday

A 14-year-old boy is due to appear in court this morning (Monday) charged with his murder.

A 19-year-old man arrested yesterday (Sunday) remains in police custody, say Lincolnshire Police.
