Bravery of coast officers highlighted in Lincolnshire Police newsletter

Two off-duty officers sharing a lift home after finishing their late shift pulled a driver away from a burning vehicle, saving his life.

The bravery of PC Hobson and PC Culyer has been highlighted by the East Lindsey Neighbourhood Policing team in their latest newsletter.

"They stumbles across a vehicle that was ablaze and without hesitation ran towards the car and pulled the driver away from the vehicle, most likely saving his life,” police said.

"PC Hobson and PC Culyer were not only in the right place at the right time, but they are also Lincolnshire Police Officers – who will always run towards danger rather than away from it.

Priorities have now been set for the team in Skegness, led by Inspector Jacqueline Evans, for the next quarter, following feedback from local communities.

Inspector Evans said: “Our priorities have been set based on feedback from our communities, as well as our own understanding of the issues affecting local neighbourhoods.

"You might not have personally seen an issue with some of the areas we're tackling, and may wonder why we've put our focus there, and it's a good question to ask.

"It's because we know there are issues or areas that need our attention, either due to the number of offences, emerging trends, or other intelligence.”

Priorities set for Skegness, Ingoldmells and Chapel St. Leonards include youth anti-social behaviour, street drinking and vagrancy and drugs.

According to the police, PCSOs in Skegness have been working together with the council homeless team to tackle this issue and this had led to reports from the public decreasing.
