Chief Constable outlines response to coronavirus

Over the weekend, Chief Constable Bill Skelly, issued a statement regarding how Lincolnshire Police has reacted to Covid-19.

He stressed that the force, and other public services, are all under a huge amount of strain.

He added that police officers have been given new powers to enforce government legislation - but that officers will only use the powers as a ‘last resort’.

Mr Skelly urged residents to continue to view the Government website for advice around Covid-19 and to follow the guidance in order to keep themselves and others safe.

He added: “We are grateful to the people of Lincolnshire, many of whom have taken these extraordinary times in their stride and continue to support our policing mission to keep our communities safe and support our incredible National Health Service.”
