As part of the #16days campaign, police are promoting the efforts of End Domestic Abuse Now (EDAN) Lincolnshire - the countywide specialist service who run a refuge in the county to house those affected.

Assistant Chief Constable Kerrin Wilson said, “Sadly we know the devastation that can be caused by domestic abuse.

"We also know the effects can be exacerbated at Christmas. This appeal promotes a small act of kindness that could make an awful situation a tiny bit easier.

"If we can all spare a thought for those less fortunate, it could add up to a big difference for the families who rely on the services of EDAN. It’s not just about making sure they have essential goods, it also sends a message that there are good people in our county who are on their side - something it’s easy to forget after years of abuse.”
