Company to appear in court - MD of Mid UK Recycling company to face charges of breaches of council enforcement notices

The managing director of a recycling facility near Ancaster faces charges of breaching enforcement notices imposed by Lincolnshire County Council.

Christopher Mowbray Mountain, from Mid UK Recycling, was due to appear at Grantham Magistrates’ Court on Monday to face eight charges relating to land at the High Dyke, on Wilsford 
Heath.

However, the case was instead adjourned in his absence to March 24 to be heard at Grantham Magistrates’ Court, with pleas yet to be entered.

Mountain, of Burghley Park, Stamford, is charged with the following:

1) Breach of an enforcement notice issued by Lincolnshire County Council issued on July 9, 2014, that between September 5, 2014, to September 18, 2015, failed before September 5, 2014, to ensure that no external storage of waste took place in an area referred to in the said notice between two buildings identified on plans as buildings 10 and 11.

2) For the same dates, failed to ensure that all material stored externally was baled and wrapped.

3) For the same dates, failed to ensure that the height of externally stored material did not exceed 3.5 metres.

He also faces the same charges listed above as the landowner for allegedly carrying on/causing/permitting an activity in breach of an enforcement notice.

A further charge alleges that on July 7, 2015, controlled waste was kept in a manner likely to cause pollution to the environment or harm to human health contrary to the Environmental Protection Act 1990. This is listed under his name both for MC Mountain and Son LTD and Mid UK Recycling - with him as a director of both.

The charges detailed above 1-3 and that from July 7 are also listed for MC
Mountain and Son LTD, of Quarrington.

And the charges detailed above 1-3 are further listed for Mid UK Recycling, of Quarrington, as landowners allegedly carrying on/causing/permitting the breaches. The firm also faces the charge as detailed above from July 7.
