CORONAVIRUS: Fosdyke man jailed after telling police officer he had Covid-19 - then breathing on his face

A man has been jailed for assault this morning after telling a police officer he had coronavirus and then breathing on him.

Luke Courtney, 29, of Snaith Avenue, Fosdyke, appeared before the virtual remand court this morning and was sentenced by Lincoln magistrates to three months in prison.

He was also orderd to pay £122 court costs for the aggrevated assault on an emergency worker.

Officers attended an address in Fosdyke following a call at 2.01am on Friday and arrested Courtney on suspicion of breaching the peace.

After being taken into police custody, Courtney told an officer that he had Covid-19 before deliberately breathing into the officer’s face.
