Courts: Horncastle man handed driving ban and fine for drug driving

A Horncastle man has been disqualified from driving and ordered to pay a fine after he pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of drugs.

Oliver Jack Taylor, 27, of Banks Street, appeared at Boston Magistrates’ Court on December 11 where he entered a guilty plea to three related drug-driving charges.

Taylor was found to have benzoylecgonine, cocaine and ketamine in his system when he was stopped by police on Lincoln Road, Horncastle, on January 10 of this year.

Taylor pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal limit of all three drugs.

He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £437 - including a £320 fine, £85 in court costs, and a £32 victim surcharge.

Taylor’s guilty plea was taken into account when imposing the sentence.
