Driver arrested for driving car on cloned plates
A driver using a car on cloned plates has been arrested and charged by police in Sleaford after officers carried out a Police Interceptors-style ‘tactical stop’.
Lincolnshire Police says officers from the Roads Policing Unit were joined by armed response officers in carrying out the arrest after being alerted to the red Vauxhall Astra travelling from the West Midlands earlier in the day.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers tracked the car from the east coast before deploying a stinger and safely bringing it to a stop in a strategic TPAC (Tactical Pursuit and Containment) manoeuvre near Sleaford Rugby Club.”
A 27-year-old man from Sandwell in the West Midlands has been charged with possession of a Class B drug (cannabis), driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence (driving on a provisional licence), failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis, and using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third‑party insurance.
He has been bailed and is due to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court in the new year.
