Driver fled after car crashed into Gainsborough home

Three people ran away after the car they were in crashed into a house in Gainsborough.

Lincolnshire Police were called just before 2.30pm yesterday (Sunday, April 4) to reports of a car colliding with a house on Lea Road, Gainsborough.

Three people who were thought to have been in the car, which was a white Mazda, left the scene on foot.

Enquiries are ongoing to trace them.

The two people inside the house at the time of the incident were not seriously injured.

A section of the street was evacuated yesterday around concerns of a gas leak as a result of the crash. Once the area was declared safe and the house that was damaged was made structurally secure, all residents were returned to their homes.
