Drug-driver, 42, fined and banned from driving

When police stopped a car because it was recorded as not being insured, they found the driver to be under the influence of cannabis, a court has heard.

Russell Healey, 42, of Mumby Road in Huttoft, near Alford, admitted driving under the influence of drugs when he appeared at Boston Magistrates’ Court on December 14.

Prosecuting, Lee Shepherd said Healey was stopped in his Ford Mondeo in Sea View Road, Skegness, at 11.30am on February 21.

A drugs swipe showed he was under the influence of cannabis with a later analysis giving a reading of 4.8 micrograms, the legal limit being two.

The magistrates banned him from driving for a year.

He was also fined £300 and ordered to pay £117 in court costs and charges.
