Eight now arrested in attempted murder probe after man seriously hurt in shotgun attack

A total of eight people, including three from the Boston area, have now been arrested by police after a man was left with serious injuries after a shooting.

The man, 24, was originally thought to have been shot in the Boston area, but police now believe the incident took place in Spalding.

Police say three of those arrested are being held on suspicion of attempted murder.

The 24-year-old remains in hospital after the shooting, which took place on Friday night.

Police were alerted to the shooting at 9.20pm. A motorist took the victim to hospital and called the force.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police gave more details of those arrested/

They said A 50-year-old man from the Boston area has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, intending to prevent the course of justice, conspiracy to cause GBH, and yhreats to kill

A 23-year-old man from the Boston area has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause GBH

A 25-year-old from the Huntingdon area and a 20-year-old from the Spalding area have also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Another man from the Boston area, aged 22, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

A 40-year-old woman from the Spalding area has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and conspiracy to commit GBH

And two men from the Peterborough area have also been held, one aged 26 on suspicion of wounding with intent and one aged on suspicion of conspiracy to commit GBH.

Police investigations are ongoing and they ask that if anyone can assist them they call 101, quoting incident 436 of February 28.
