Five adults and one teenager arrested after affray in Horncastle

Horncastle Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident that led to the arrest of six people in the town centre on Wednesday evening.

According to police, a glass bottle was thrown from a window of a property at the Bull Ring.

Police confirmed officers attended an address soon after 6.30pm on Wednesday (April 22).

They said: “Six people have been arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with this incident and remain in custody.

“They are a 27-year-old woman, four men aged 33, 38, 34, 24, and a 16-year-old boy.

“They will be questioned in due course.”

Inspector Sarah Constantine said: “We would like to reassure residents that we take issues like this very seriously regardless of the current situation.

“If anyone can assist us with our investigation please contact us.”

According to one witness - who did not want to be named - the police presence included officers in riot gear, at least five police vans and a police operated drone.

The witness said he saw people on a house roof.

The incident is the latest in a lengthy list of ASB in Horncastle.
