Four arrested after 19-mile police chase from Grantham to Great Hale

A 29-year-old man has been arrested after a 19 mile chase involving four police cars from Grantham to Great Hale.

Witnesses saw the cars race through Grantham streets before eventually halting in the Sleaford area village yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “A blue ford KA failed to stop for officers in Harrowby Lane, Grantham and officers pursued the vehicle.”

They headed along Londonthorpe Road and out of town before eventually stopping on Queens Road, Great Hale.

Two girls aged 17 and 18, and a 23 yr old man were arrested and released with no further action. Liam Chapman, 29, of St Mary’s Crescent in East Leake, Loughborough, was charged with failing to stop and dangerous driving.

He was released on bail to appear before Lincoln Magistrates on May 24, said the spokesman.
