Four to appear in court linked to murder investigation

Four people will be appearing before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court this morning (Monday, March 16) in relation to the murder of a man in Market Rasen
Lincolnshire Police say they have charged three people with murder and another man with threatening with an offensive weapon in a public place, following the death of 37-year-old Danny Fowler, of Newtoft, Market Rasen.
The move comes after police launched a murder investigation into the death of Mr Fowler after he was found with suspected stab wounds in Union Street, Market Rasen, just after 5pm on Thursday (March 12).
Detectives from the force’s Major Crime Unit submitted a case file to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Saturday evening.
Ryan Townhill, 29, of no fixed address, Martin Doocey, 55, of Waverley Court, Queen Street, Market Rasen and Shannon Doocey, 31, of Mill Street, Market Rasen have all been charged with murder.
In addition, Shannon Doocey and Townhill have been charged with having an offensive weapon in a public place and having a bladed article in a public place, respectively.
Joshua Wood, 23, of Malvern Road, Scunthorpe, has been charged with threatening with an offensive weapon in a public place.
All four have been remanded into custody for a hearing at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, March 16).
Police said a 26-year-old woman has been released on conditional police bail while investigations continue.
In a statement on Saturday, a force spokesperson had stated: “A postmortem has confirmed that Danny died from the injuries sustained from multiple stab wounds. Our thoughts very much remain with his family and loved ones at this time, and they are being supported by specialist officers.
“This remains an active investigation, and we continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.”
