Hide AdPC Rebecca Rushton said, “A group of between six and eight men, who we believe were under the influence of alcohol, boarded the train and began chanting and singing.
“One of the members of the group then exposed himself to the whole carriage, including a number of families and young children.
“The same man then became verbally abusive and aggressive to the train conductor, who contacted police.”
The train was met by BTP officers at Aslockton, and the man, who is aged 18 and from the Grantham area, was arrested. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Hide AdPC Rushton added: “Unwanted sexual behaviour of any kind will be not tolerated anywhere on the rail network and we take all reports of this nature seriously.
“This clearly must have been an unpleasant and distressing experience for the passengers on board and I would urge anyone who was travelling on the train and who witnessed the incident to please come forward and speak to us.”
