Justin Marc Burnett of Bells Yard Close admitted the offence when he appeared at Skegness Magistrates’ Court.

Dan Pietryka, prosecuting, said police saw Burnett in an Audi car cross the centre line twice at 1am on April 1 on the A16 Louth Road.

He failed a breathalyser test with a reading of 54 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Mitigating, Mark Hudson said Burnett had been ‘extremely upset’ because of a marital break-up.

Burnett was banned from driving for 16 months but was offered the drink drivers’ rehabilitation course which would reduce the period of disqualification by 16 weeks.

He was also ordered to pay a fine of £350 and £140 in costs and charges.
