Investigating officer speaks out after Mark Clapson is jailed

The investigating officer in the Mark Clapson case has thanked victims for 'bravely supporting' the investigation, following his sentencing last week.

Mark Clapson was sentenced to two years and nine months in prison.

As reported on Friday, Mark Clapson, 39, from Cawkwell Hill near Louth, was jailed for two years and nine months after pleading guilty to multiple sexual offences - including secretly recording his victims with a hidden camera, and downloading tens of thousands of indecent images of children.

Today (Tuesday), Investigating Officer DC Wayne Pilkington, of the Paedophile Online Investigation Team, said: “We are sincerely grateful to the victims in this case who have been so brave in supporting our investigation.

"This is a clear message to perpetrators that we will take robust action, and meticulously investigate, in order to bring offenders to justice.”
