'It was an umbrella': Police quash reports of man with Samurai sword in Skegness
Lincolnshire Police have quashed reports of a man wandering around Skegness carrying a Samurai sword.
Members of the public described a ‘big police presence’ in High Street while the investigation took place.
However, the incident was not as serious as originally thought.
We asked Lincolnshire Police for an update and was told police were called around 7.44am this morning.
However, when they arrived at the scene they found the man was not carrying a sword at all – it was an umbrella.
Police said: “Officers were deployed to search the area but confirmed that it wasn’t a sword, but an umbrella.
"There were no offences committed, so no arrests or warnings.”
