Norman Valentine, 73, of Station Road, Legbourne, admitted downloading two category B indecent images in October 2019 and three category C images between August and September 2019.

He also admitted using the name Kamiti Kamau to open a Facebook account between February 2016 and November 2019, which was in contravention of the terms of his registration on the Sex Offenders’ Register following a conviction in February 2016.

Prosecuting at Boston Magistrates Court, Lee Shepherd said police went to his home on a routine visit at 4pm on November 4 2019 where they saw he had a computer.

He said they saw he had been activating Facebook and using a false name, Kamiti Kamau, but he told them he had not realised he was supposed to tell police if he used a different name.

Mr Shepherd said that Valentine’s internet activity was checked and he was found to have downloaded two category B and three category C indecent images of children.

The magistrates sent the case to Lincoln Crown Court for sentence on a date to be arranged, and Valentine was granted unconditional bail.
