Mathew Teanby, 42, of College Yard, Brigg, has been found not guilty of an offence under the Criminal Justice Act, Scunthorpe Magistrates’ Court was told on December 22.

The court heard how Mr Teanby had been accused of having a knife in a public place without good reason or lawful authority.

It was alleged that Mr Teanby had a folding pocket knife in Scotter Road, Scunthorpe on November 13, 2015.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Mr Teanby was found not guilty by magistrates after a trial at Scunthorpe Magistrates’ Court.

The charge has now been dismissed.

Liam Liddy

Liam Liddy, 25, of Swift Drive, Scawby Brook, has been sentenced for an offence contrary to articles 4(1) and 18(1)(a) of the Environment Agency (Inland

Waterways) Order 2010, Scunthorpe Magistrates’ Court was told on December 23.

The court was told how Liddy kept a Yasso II vessel on the River Ancholme at Brigg Leisure Centre Mooring when it was not registered with the Environment Agency.

The court was told how the offence happened ‘on or about’ June 18 last year.

The charge was proved in Liddy’s absence from court.

He had not entered a plea.

Liddy has been fined £440 and ordered to pay £250 costs, a £150 criminal courts charge and £44 victim surcharge.

Peter Vernam

Peter Vernam, 30, of Lincoln Drive, Caistor, has pleaded guilty to an affray charge and a drugs charge, Grimsby Magistrates’ Court heard on December 30.

The court was told how Verman admitted using or threatening unlawful violence towards other persons.

The court heard that his ‘conduct was such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for his personal safety’.

This offence happened in Grimsby on December 19 last year.

The court was told how Verman also admitted possession of a quantity of class B drug cannabis.

This offence also happened in Grimsby on December 19.

Verman has been given unconditional bail until January 22 when he is due to be sentenced.

The case has been adjourned until this date while a pre-sentence report is prepared.

David Kenyon

David Kenyon, 20, of Hurds Farm, Worlaby, has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to a string of motoring offences, Scunthorpe Magistrates’ Court heard on December 31.

The court was told how Kenyon admitted driving a MG Rover ZR dangerously in Churchill Avenue, Brigg on December 1 last year.

He also pleaded guilty to driving the vehicle without a valid licence or third party insurance.

Kenyon has been committed to detention for 20 weeks, suspended for 12 months, the magistrates’ court was told.

He must also take part in an accredited programme for 19 days and carry out 120 hours of unpaid work within the next twelve months.

Kenyon has been banned from driving for 18 months, the court was told.

He has been ordered to pay a total of £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service as well as an £80 victim surcharge.

The court heard how Kenyon had also been charged with failing to stop the vehicle, in Churchill Avenue, Brigg, after being required to do so by a constable in uniform, on December 1 last year.

This charge has now been withdrawn.

Kenyon did not enter a plea for this charge, the court was told.

Emma Adcock

Emma Adcock, 24, of Queensfield, South Kelsey, has had a charge against her dismissed, Grimsby Magistrates’ Court heard on January 4.

The court heard how Ms Adcock had been accused of assaulting a woman by beating her in Grimsby on October 14 last year.

Miss Adcock entered a not guilty plea to the charge, on November 11 last year.

On January 4, the court heard how the case had been dismissed because no evidence was offered.

Brendan Lunt

Brendan Lunt, 21, of The Brambles, Market Rasen, has admitted breaking his bail conditions, Lincoln Magistrates’ Court heard on January 2.

The court heard how Lunt broke the conditions of his bail by tampering with an electronic monitoring strap on November 1, 2015 and seven 15-minute absences between September 27 and December 31, 2015.

Lunt has conditional bail until his hearing at Liverpool Crown Court on January 22.

Paul Thompson

Paul Thompson, 34, of Francis Lane, Horncastle, is due to be sentenced for two offences, Lincoln Crown Court heard on January 7.

The court was told how Thompson admitted driving a Subaru vehicle when he was more than two times over the legal limit. A test showed Thompson had 197 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. He also admitted causing serious injury to another person by driving dangerously. Both offences happened on the A158 Horncastle Road in Wragby on May 4, 2015. He will be sentenced on or after February 4.
