Louth man faces trial for alleged child sexual assaults

A Louth man is due to face trial at Lincoln Crown Court next month, where he will face two charges of sexual assault on a child.

Mark Backhurst, 52, of Royal Oak Court, is alleged to have committed two assaults on a girl under the age of 13, elsewhere in Lincolnshire.

The two charges relate to the period between June 30, 2018, and September 30, 2018.

Backhurst appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (March 11) and was sent for trial at Lincoln Crown Court on April 9.

No pleas were entered at the magistrates’ court, and the defendant was granted bail until the next court hearing.
