Louth man jailed after sexual assault on young girl
A Louth man has been sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13.
Mark Kevin Backhurst, 52, of Royal Oak Court, was found guilty on one count of sexually assaulting the young child.
His trial began on November 3, and the jury delivered a unanimous guilty verdict at Lincoln Crown Court on November 9.
Backhurst was sentenced to six years and six months imprisonment, and he will sign the Sex Offender Register indefinitely.
