Man, 25, faces trial over alleged sexual offences

A man has been sent for trial at the crown court for multiple historic sexual offences in the Louth area, said to have been committed when he was in his mid-teens.

Court news

Sheridan Venters, who now calls himself Edward Shezzer Armstrong, 25, now living in Grimsby, denies two allegations of sexually assaulting a girl, aged nine or 10 at the time, by penetration, as well as four allegations of sexual assault and one of inciting a girl aged nine or 10 to engage in sexual activity, for which no plea was made.

All the offences were said to have been committed between 2010 and 2012 in the Louth area, when Venters would have been aged between 15 and 17.

The two offences of assault by penetration are only triable at the crown court, so he was sent on unconditional bail for trial at Lincoln Crown Court with a first hearing due to take place on May 12.
