Man, 50, sentenced for £299 toothbrush theft in Louth

A 50-year-old man, who admitted stealing a toothbrush worth £299 from the Boots pharmacy in Louth, has been sentenced.

Mark Clarke, of Dudley Street, Grimsby, stole the item from the shop on January 3, 2020.

He indicated a guilty plea when the case was heard on May 5, and was given a six month conditional discharge in absence by Grimsby Magistrates’ Court.

Clarke was also ordered to pay £85 in court costs, in addition to a £22 victim surcharge.

At the same hearing, Clarke - appearing by live link - pleaded guilty to stealing four packs of razor blades, worth £80, from Sainsbury’s in Grimsby on May 4.

For this offence, he was given a six month conditional discharge.
