Man arrested after incidents involving children on way to school

A man has been arrested after a series of linked incidents, two involving school children, in the Witham Bank East area of Boston.

Two schools sent letters to parents warning them to make sure their children to stay vigilant when walking to and from school after the incidents on Wednesday.

Police said today that a man had been arrested as a result of three reported incidents from 7.40am on Wednesday.

The first was an assault on a man aged 72 who received minor injuries.

The second was that a girl, aged 13, had been assaulted, but not injured.

And the third involved a report that a man had tried to grab a bike from a 10-year-old boy.

Lincolnshire Police said today that officers attended the location of the incidents and arrested one man who has been charged with assault offences.

Police say that it was an isolated incident.

Parents at Boston High School and Pioneers Academy Primary received letters alerting them to the fact that an incident took place as pupils were coming to school, and reminding them of the importance of staying vigilant and alert.
