Man charged with assault on police officer in Horncastle

A man will appear in court next month charged with assaulting an emergency worker in Horncastle during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Police have confirmed Barry Lee Perrin, 29, is charged with assault by beating and use of threatening or abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

He will appear at Boston Magistrates on July 8.

The charge follows an incident on the town’s Centurion Park Estate last month.

Several messages in relation to the incident have appeared on social media in recent days.

However, the News cannot comment any further because of legal reasons.
