Man grew cannabis to 'control his anger'

A Skegness man who grew a single cannabis plant was a 'vulnerable man' and using it to control his anger, magistrates at Boston have been told.

The court heard that police were attending the home address of 30 year old Christopher Hunter at William Way on another matter on September 29 last year when they found the plant.

Mitigating for Hunter, who admitted the offence, Helen Coney said he was using the cannabis to control his anger.

She said he was a 'very vulnerable adult' and had been to his GP and Addaction and was now on prescribed medication.

The magistrates imposed a nine month conditional discharge and ordered Hunter to pay £117 in court costs and charges.
