Bassett, of Firbeck Avenue, also admitted to two further charges - possessing five prohibited images of children between January 26 and May 2, 2020, and possessing an extreme pornographic image involving an animal on February 4, 2020.

No plea was entered to a fifth charge – making 70 category C indecent images of children between July 7, 2014 and May 19, 2020. The magistrates declined jurisdiction on that matter.

The bench said it had insufficient sentencing powers and committed the case to Lincoln Crown Court on June 7.

Bassett was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register within three days of the magistrates’ court hearing.

He was granted bail to the next hearing with the condition that he does not have unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.
